HydraFacial MD Exeprience
I've never heard about HydraFacial, MD. This facial is said to be very popular in the US especially among celebrities and one of it's famous followers is Paris Hilton. Yesterday was my HydraFacial initiation courtesy of my fab boss. :) We went to this place in Raffles City Mall (or Hall?) called Dermacare MEDISPA where she holds some sort of treatment package.
I liked the place. It's very clean and smelled so good. They have a mini lounge where you can wait for your appointment or hang-out a bit after your treatment. It's magazine selection is updated and interesting (no issues from years ago). They will then escort you to a small room for your treatment. The room is dark and I was asked to change into a tube dress (a first time for me during facials). Then the facial technician rolled in the "machine". Ta-dah!!!
The procedure was similar to a diamond peel, only this one is wet (hence, "hydra"). The entire procedure has three steps. The first step is using a serum that softens the outer layer of the skin. This is done with a want with a slight abrasive feel and sucking motion. Unlike the diamond peel, the wand is not dragged through but rather it is tapped on to your skin one area at a time. Then using a different tip, the wand is used to deliver exfoliating agents while sucking out skin debris and other impurities. The last step, again with another tip, is depositing micro-nutrients into the skin. It feels like the serum is being "pushed" into your skin. The finale, a face mask. It hardens like a cast on my face. While waiting for the mask to do it's magic, the technician gave me a head and shoulder massage. Soooo good! I wish she goes on and on forever. :) She then took off the mask, and then, I'm done! The procedure was totally painless and there was no redness that usually comes after facials. Word of caution, the procedure can get very cold, especially when putting on the mask. If you have deep-seated comedones, this facial will not eliminate it or you will probably need several sessions.
All in all, this was a superb facial. I liked the results, my skin became glowing and bright. I felt it was more plump and looked healthier. I didn't expect my acne scars to lighten so it's all good. While I relax after the procedure, they served an organic ginger tea. It was yummy much like the one served in The Spa. How I wish I can do this again and again. :) Thanks Gen for this amazing facial experience. :)
